Sawayaka Walking in Fukuroi (5) - Kasui Lily Garden

Next to Kasuisai Temple, there is Kasui Yuri no Sono or Kasui Lily Garden. It’s a huge garden with an area of 99,000 square meters and about 150 kinds of lilies. I came in from the main entrance and saw colorful mixture of lilies of different colors first.

Then I walked along a large pond to this lily field. There you can feel as if you were in a real countryside. The weather was beautiful, and it was so refreshing to walk along the sea of lilies.

The sunlight was shimmering through branches of trees, making dark red lilies look more mysterious.

The combination of lilies and trees/light and shadow was attractive.

I had seldom seen pink lilies.

Orange lilies were pretty.

Seeing these while lilies, I remembered a book titled “The Lily of the Valley” though I had never read it.

From the hillside, you can have a view over the pond and the town.

You can also see Kasuisai Temple.

In Kasui Lily Garden, there were many people taking pictures. Some of them may apply for the photo contest held by the garden.

If you are interested in this garden, search with "Kasui Yuri-no Sono." Then, you can get some information from a site "iN HAMAMATSU.COM."

According to the map of the walk, it is about 3.7 km from Kasui Lily Garden to JR Fukuroi Station. I walked back to the station, wondering if there was any bus. Before I took a train to Hamamatsu, I dropped in the information center by the station and got a bus timetable, so that I can take a bus to Kasuisai Temple next time to have a Buddhist meal.

When you complete the course of Sawayaka Walking, you can get a stamp and badge at a temporary counter in the station that is opened until 15:00. I got a new card with a stamp, which is valid for one year until June 7, 2020. JR Tokai gives you prizes including their original goods such as a towel, cap, mug, and lunch box if you collect 10, 20, or 30 stamps. Why don't you try to get one if you live in Tokai or Central Japan?
